ABOUT

I'm Nammi - a self-taught baker and founder of The Spiced Oven in Sherwood, Oregon. I've been baking since I was a teenager in India, and after years in the corporate world I finally made the leap to follow the passion I'd always had.
When I started The Spiced Oven, I wanted to create something I hadn't seen before in Oregon - sourdough rooted in the flavors of the Indian subcontinent. I weave bold, aromatic ingredients into the slow, living craft of sourdough baking - think turmeric, saffron, masala, chai etc. These aren't fusion flavors for novelty's sake. They are deeply intentional, culturally rooted bakes developed from my own heritage, memory, and years of original recipe development.
Everything I make is built on organic ingredients, long fermentation, and food that's genuinely nourishing. This is my craft, and I put a little piece of myself into every single bake.
